Meet Our Amazing Nominees
My name is Janine Smith and I work as a speech-language specialist for the Rutherford School District. My goal for all of my students is to provide them with the tools to effectively communicate across contexts. Speech-language therapy not only occurs in the therapy room but in the classrooms, on the playground and on field trips. All communication is welcome including verbalizations, sign language and AAC devices. I infuse kindness and humor into every therapy session and collaborate with colleagues to enhance student growth. Seeing a student independently access their wants/needs without frustration is one of my greatest joys in life!

My name is Bridget Lowe. I earned a Master’s degree in Psychological Studies from Seton Hall University and a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Caldwell University. I’ve worked in psychology, special education, and ABA settings for over 15 years and have been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst for the past 13 years. I joined the Rutherford Child Study Team nine years ago as the Behaviorist. In this role, I have the privilege of supporting students across all schools in the district— from Pre-K through our 18 to 21-year-old program. I’m very grateful to work alongside such dedicated colleagues every day, including Child Study Team members, teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, administrators, and more. I grew up in Rutherford and now live here with my husband and my two children, Cameron and Caleigh. It is very meaningful to me to serve a community I’ve been connected to my entire life. I am proud to be part of the Rutherford team that works together to support our wonderful Bulldog students. Thank you, and congratulations to all the well-deserving nominees!
